The challenge

To support the Exploration and Production activities of a large Oil and Gas major,  a FPSO offshore operator won a substantial long term business to design, build and implement a technically sophisticated offshore vessel. At this time the offshore operator was losing its Managing Director for the region where the project will be delivered.  It was therefore quite a high priority for a replacement to be found to lead the business and the Engineering Project team earmarked for this project Through an industry recommendation and subsequently impressing the hiring team with our industry knowledge, global reach and track record of attracting senior level executives to challenging terrains, we were engaged.

What we did

Hunter and Chase was commissioned by the senior team to conduct an industry search and facilitate the hiring process together with the internal HR team. We undertook substantial research in the Oil and Gas offshore services and engineering sector and within five weeks identified 5 industry leaders  with proven track record of leading organisations with a similar profile to the client and have had hands-on involvement in managing the delivery of high-profile contracts for demanding clients.

Outcome

From the short list two candidates were most impressive and made it to the last of a three-staged process. in the end an offer was made to one of the two following a comprehensive 3 staged interview process and assessment of cultural fit. Hunter and Chase supported the candidate through the final  negotiations, resignation from current employer and management of the relocation stages to South East Asia
